Struggle & Resilience | March 1st, Kehrein Center Get your tickets now.  Struggle & Resilience, an inspiring evening that amplifies the voices of Black and Latina women in the arts through dance, spoken word, and music. Featuring The Caged Bird Sings, a multidisciplinary masterpiece by Julianna Rubio Slager and Kady Debelak inspired by Maya Angelou’s iconic poem; an excerpt from Frida Kahlo, a contemporary dance by Silvita Diaz Brown that bridges past and present experiences; Transcendence, Tobin James’s reflective ballet on overcoming adversity; What’s a Woman Worth, a spoken word and movement collaboration inspired by Quina Aragon’s poetry; and a bold new work by Rachel Hutsell, former NYCB dancer, honoring modern womanhood.

Silvita is rechoreographing an excerpt of "Leyendas y Realidades: Malinche"  for Momenta Dance Spring concert.  MOMENTAs evening performance Color Schemes, will feature a dynamic collection of new works inspired by various color palettes. Choreography by MOMENTA faculty and additional guest artists from the Chicagoland area. This program will also include solos from our graduating seniors.

I am happy to announce that I recently received an Individual Artist Program grant from the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) to continue the development of the third section of my project/research Ellas y Yo Mexicanas: Silvita section in 2025.
